As Expected, The TNA iMPACT! Rating Drops ….

As expected, last night’s episode of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling dropped in the ratings department as the show drew a 0.86 (0.9) cable rating, with an average of 1.08 million viewers. That is down 20% (final #) and 11% (# of viewers) from last week’s 1.06 (1.1) and 1.20 million viewers.

The show took a huge hit from the NBA Finals Game 7, which drew an INSANE 21.56 million viewers for ABC. That is an absolutely ridiculous number and TNA management was very worried that they had to go head-to-head with that game.

They hope to bounce back next week with no NHL or NBA playoff competition.

    A "bounce-back" would only be a 1.1 rating.

Game 7 of the NBA finals, never even doubted it (and other shows) would be down. Most viewed NBA game in ABC history.

I'm actually surprised Impact! did so well. I was actually expecting a much lower number based off of the viewership for game 7. I think TNA needs to count this as a huge blessing because they only lost roughly 10% of it's viewers. It was a solid show with a pretty good Joe-Styles match and the reveal of Angle as part of the MEM.

You're a twat. Basketball isn't even interesting to watch.

      • jbcissom says:

I DVR'ed and flipped channels. Really wished I hadn't flipped and just stuck with Impact!. No Spurs fan, but definitely not a Miami Heat fan.

I Will be a die hard of any team LeBron is on, truly witnessing the greatest basketball player to EVER play! Michael was NOTHING without pippin, yet bosh and wade are shells and LeBron of course schooled everyone!

          • tna24 says:

lebron might not have those rings if it wasnt for bosh ,wade and ray allen this year. so think again buddy

          • jbcissom says:

Not to mention Chalmers burying 3's in game 6 and Shane Battier doing it in game 7. LeBron is no MJ, period.

          • tnadude says:

You obviously never watched Jordon play then. I remember the finals game where he played lights out with food poisoning. The man was a monster.

Jordon is the best player in any sport in history. Period. Btw – I'm from Baltimore, so not Bing a Homer.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But seriously, shut your Dumbass up! The only train you don’t like it is probably because they’re girls in high school that can hoop better than you. It’s bad enough San Antonio lost, but to have your smug ass talk shit is more annoying than a Japanese girls’ laugh.

  5. JoshuaTNA says:

I enjoyed the show, Impact is still #1 on Spike. I'm Happy.

    • Whatever says:

They are one of spikes highest rated shows stupid, not #1. Deal with it. There are shows like bar rescue that pull in higher ratings on spike than tna does.

      • JoshuaTNA says:

Occasionally tv shows like bar rescue etc. Pull higher ratings then TNA but it's not often. TNA has consistently for the last couple years pulled the highest ratings for the network that why Spike itself calls TNA there highest rated show. I don't make this stuff up Spike said it themselves. And i'm the stupid one Lol.

  6. Jon says:

NBA, NHL, MNF, blah blah. And yet …
Pawn Stars (9p) was up over the previous week, 930p was basically flat
Numerous other shows — like Big Bang reruns on TBS — took a hit (presumably from the NBA) but still had respectable numbers.

The problem TNA faces isn't the competition and it isn't the network they're on.
The real problem TNA has in terms of TV is that they find themselves perennially trailing (and by large margins) with viewers 18-49 to shows like not only Big Bang & Pawn Stars but also reruns of NCIS, Intervention, reruns of Family Guy/King of the Hill, and even Top 20 Funniest Videos on TruTV.

It's not the big competition that hurts so much, it's the _amount_ of competition that's the problem.

Americans thinks NBA is the best in the world , who cares about boring basketball shit!

    WHERES GOLDBERG

  9. Whatsup121 says:

What do they expect they compete

Against every major network , most

Popular show are on Thursday night

Anyways so they’re better off competing

Against the on a different night like sat

    • Bigmike885 says:

Having a show on Saturday night, in this day in age, is TV hell..you only get put there if you're about to get canceled

  10. RavenNevermore says:

The game 7 finals and 6 were much decided like wrestling. Meaning the refs predetermended the finals by helping the heat win. And no I am not a spur fan. I watched impact because its more exciting than the nba nowadays. Well ever. Dvr’d The asskissing of the heat.

  11. purpleurkel says:

    Basketball is gay

  12. JoeWrestling says:

It's easy to say TNA's ratings are low. But look at Bellator only drew 480,000 viewers for their live fights and new reality show. I like Bellator, but this just shows if TNA can best them by 2.25x the viewers with a weak show, TNA has some loyal fans, and it shows it's not so easy just to start up a company and get new viewers in this market.
