Breaking Update: Brooke Hogan Gone From TNA

Source: The Wrestling Observer

UPDATE: As noted earlier, Brooke Hogan has been released from TNA Wrestling. There were rumors in both the WWE and TNA locker-rooms over the past several days, especially on Thursday and Friday, that she had been released but we weren’t able to confirm it until today when TNA officials officially acknowledged it.

According to sources, the story making the rounds is that she was let go from the company on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. TNA officials are saying it’s due to “budget cuts” but others believe there is more to the story, especially with her father in the position he’s in with the company. Of course, there is always a chance that she’ll return down the line but as of now, she’s been released.

There was a “Brooke” tease by Bully Ray at the iMPACT! tapings last night but it turned out to be a swerve. You can click here to read the iMPACT! **SPOILERS** for next week if you want to know what happens. They basically called Brooke Hogan ugly. It’s also interesting to note that Hulk Hogan hasn’t been seen for weeks on iMPACT!. Hmmm.

ORIGINAL: According to a source, Brooke Hogan has been released from TNA iMPACT! Wrestling.

Apparently the story was going around the WWE lockerroom on Thursday, but the story wasn’t confirmed by TNA officials until today.

We should have more details on this breaking story later today.

All together now: Na Na Na Na Hey Hey Hey Goodbye!

I like Brooke, I was never mad at her being on there but with that said, i'm not mad that she's gone. I grew up in the Nitro vs Raw era when they added people in who didnt wrestle. So i'm never mad at it but i'm never mad when they leave either.

    Hulk Hogan, your next.

  5. DigestivBiscuit says:

She didn't actually do anything bad in TNA that will make me disliking her and she didn't actually appear that many time in Impact wrestling, However I'm glad to see gone from TNA now her place can be replaced by another KO wrestler.

    • ariesstormjoe says:

i think the problem ppl had with her for the most part what did she bring to the table? and thats why she was disliked. which is my opinion on her as well.

in terms of promos she didnt do anything amazing. but then i dont think fans expected her to be such. in terms of time usage. she didnt have a great deal. after signing her i dont think tna could really lessen or increase the time by much.

ppl might hate hulk hogan but like it or not his role in tna makes sense. former wrestler thus has knowledge of the business in a tv role that is claimed to "set up matches". if he leaves in the next 2 years. i think they'll have to have bischoff there. if he holds it for say a year it'll probably be time to change again. maybe then jarrett could be the GM. after him tho? kinda stuck myself who tna could choose then. too many unknown variables.

but with brooke hogan her claim to wrestling is "daughter of former wrestler". think the role of head of the knockouts should be there. but have someone there that has a history in wrestling. though they have some knockouts to sign 1st really.

      • nwoforlife says:

only people that know squat about wrestling don't like hogan he will always be the biggest star wrestling ever had even hhh know that hogan is and will be wrestling 100 years from now people will know of hogan after all he is why you are here

        • Philly_Cheese says:

Actually he's not the reason most became wrestling fans, he likes to make that claim but even most in WWE during the time said he didn't draw much by himself. Simply put his rise to fame was purely based on the booking at the time, and they could've put anyone in his shoes. If he wasn't there you would've seen someone else body slam Andre, you would've seen someone else in his position. Simply put he didn't get his place for being the best wrestler at the time, or for being talented, he was just picked by VKM's father to be the face of the company, and they wanted someone who wasn't known at all. The problem is Hogan WAS the biggest star wrestling ever had, he's not any more. More fans regard wrestlers like Steve Austin, and The Rock as bigger stars than Hogan. His time passed long ago and he's no longer relevant.

      • oh0K says:

How about no GM at all? Remember when Impact had only one hour on FSN? They had more matches than they do with the two hours they have now, and no GM, it was actual total nonstop action…

        • Philly_Cheese says:

People seem to think wrestling needs a GM but really it doesn't. The wrestlers are capable of telling a story and letting the fans know of matches. You don't need some authority figure coming in saying it's official. People seem to forget that when wrestling was at it's peak, there was no such thing as a GM. You had people like Bischoff and VKM but they were involved in authority figure storylines, not playing the "pretend booker" on TV.

  6. jbcissom says:

This move should have been done a long time ago.

    • ariesstormjoe says:

really the move should never have been made. but as it was tna used her sparingly. some ppl suggest the amount tna were paying her affected how they booked the knockouts which i doubt to be true.

if creative say "right this week mickie james vs gail. next week mickie james vs velvet sky" if taryn, tessmacher, odb and at 1 time etc etc arent being used its the girls being booked keeping them off tv more than anything else really.

    • soyfenomenal says:

This move should not have even needed to be made!

    • jbcissom says:

I agree with both of you, but since one screw up was made, a correction needed to be made.

  7. RavenNevermore says:

This makes me so happy! If they do another knockout leader. They should have an ex woman wrestler like miss Jackie.

  8. hangers says:

    Yippie!!!!

  9. ariesstormjoe says:

why were there rumours going around in wwe about brooke hogan's release?

after all arent tna the company that should not be named? wwe should torture those that spoke their name to ensure a pandemic doesnt start.

have dance off competitions on live tv with the talent dressed as favourite superhero. sounds torture-worthy enough.

  10. JoeWrestling says:

She did it to herself how she ruined the only storyline she had. It's not surprising since she doesn't wrestle, and she can't possibly bring any audience in more than the knockouts they already have.

  11. TheBringer92 says:

she shouldve been one of the first to go if hogan did like it or not.

  12. shanedraper says:

thank god, she was a huge waste of money

  13. Roid Master says:

…and while we're on the topic of dead weight…what exactly does SoCal Val do, besides pose for calendar pictures?

    • ariesstormjoe says:

so cal val is a backstage interviewer. much like borash is. the equivalent of renee young in wwe.

      • oh0K says:

She is? Why do her n JB sopposedly have the same job? Couldnt say the last time i seen her on tv, other than collecting title belts before matches…

  14. Listentna says:

Didnt tmz just report that darren young came out to being with brooke?

  15. Stunner says:

I wonder how much releasing Brooke Hogan is going to save TNA, as far as it relates to money? I mean the deal couldn’t have been that big, she didn’t even wrestle.
