Dixie Carter Contacts Fan Involved In Alberto Del Rio Incident

The woman who was upset at Alberto Del Rio, Shelly Ehler, noted that TNA’s Dixie Carter called her personally after reading the story.

Ehler said that Carter explained that she was sad to read about her experience with WWE and offered her and her family VIP passes to Bound For Glory. She noted that TNA’s talent would never act as Del Rio did and encouraged them to “come meet Hulk Hogan and all the wrestlers on behalf of TNA.”

  3. Treck says:

I have so much respect for Dixie Carter. She helps others from her heart. Never for publicity like Vince Mcmahon

    • Bigmike885 says:

oh yea..cause this isnt for publicilty…

      • Raincold57 says:

what publicity? i highly doubt this wil make headline news its just a nice thing to do for her.. for all the heat wwe fans give tna reality is alot of the wrestlers in wwe think they're gods over there and with punk and others would not be shocked if most of them are tools in real life. where as tna guys seem more laid back and cool to ppl. not saying they're all angels nobody is but. how about wwe guys stop acting like a-holes to the ppl who support that crap they say is wrestling iver there instead of acting like dipshits and then you would not have to have dixie do this.. just sayin

        • Bigmike885 says:

Just like the inidient didnt make any kind of all. Of course the TNA guys can be more socialable..there's a MUCH smaller fan base to cater to. Most of them dont get hounded every step of their days (before you get defensive..i said most of them..) I'm not justifying thier actions, but I seem to remember reports of both Angle and Hardy being pricky on occasion while in WWE. Its a grind.

        • rawuncutnxrated says:

Who cares if they are "tools" in real life? It's their life they can be d*cks if they want to be. There is no rule that says because you're on tv that you have to kiss ass & pander to people like you.

        • ricky_No1 says:

What heat do WWE fans give TNA fans? its ok to like WWE over TNA you know. You really need to romove the blinkers and stop putting WWE down. I makes you sound like a moron

          • The Spectacular Crimson Spider says:

And your lack of grammar doesn’t? Two words dude: spell check. Anyway, this is a TNA site where we, TNA fans, can gripe, praise or anything in between about TNA OR the competition. If we wanna complain about WWE guess what dumbass? We can! So get the fuck over it.

          • ricky_No1 says:

I said before and will say again. I suffer from dyslexia you narrow minded prick and my spelling makes no difference to my iq and abillity to give an opinion. Now if ya finished protecting ya boyfriend? Biggot

    • godoftna says:

it might not b "headline news", but it is a bit of a publicity move by Dixie and TNA none the less. By inviting the woman and her family to meet the TNA stars, Dixie is basically saying that "hey, we r a more family friendly environment and this is a place that u and ur kids can come to without worry." Word of mouth spreads from stuff like this, and while it certainly won't catapult TNA to the top of the wrestling world, it will make them out to b a classy and respectable company. And with twitter, facebook, and stuff like that, word can and will spread fast.

Jeez, I wish Del Rio ripped my sign…

  5. ariesstormjoe says:

    love this. good story.

    very classy by tna/dixie.

  6. soyfenomenal says:

Stuff like this makes TNA better. They define "fan-friendly."

    • Whatever says:

It’s not fan friendly it’s tna being desperate for fans to watch and to follow them on twitter. Really sad for the blow job queen to stoop to this level for a fan base

      • The Spectacular Crimson Spider says:

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, except when it comes from a Vince McMahon dick rider such as yourself. Blowjob queen? Real classy coming from guy who never had one.

  7. Cam says:

First off there are guys on the TNA roster who act the same way as Del Rio did. Anderson, Ray, Hogan, Sting, Joe, Gunner, Aries have been known to be assholes at times and as far as CM punk, the fan was hitting him in the kidneys and pushing him, so I guess he should have let him do that? Yes punk hit the wrong guy and the guy who punk hit even said he wasn’t pressing charges because it was an accident. While the guy who hit punk was bragging on twitter about it. Rest assure Aries would have hit someone of they were harassing him

  8. DJBIGCG says:

So vkm shows up on wwe raw and he pulls in 600,000 more viewers. Now it seems like dixie is trying to get some of those viewers and have them tune into there version of wwe wrestlemania, bfg. We'll see what leting that lady and family come does if anything to get more viewers into tna

  9. Stunner says:

WHAT … The E is on its way down, that’s right I said it. WHAT… Vince just doesn’t GET IT ! Nice move TNA, another 10 years and you will OWN the WWE all due to Vince feeding the fans CRAPOLA , on RAW an constantly shoving CENA, CENA, CENA. Can’t believe the “E” is getting worse as time goes on. It’s so hard to watch now I’m almost at the point of just reading the spoilers and DVR IMPACT! WHAT…

  10. Peckar says:

I have no idea what the incident was??? It wasn't headline news so how bad could it have been?

    • mrjdjr says:

I know. It's the typical in-depth reporting by the dinks that run this site

    • Pippin0490 says:

Same here. Somebody mentioned ripping fans signs. Hasn't Kid Kash made a career of doing that? I recall he really pissed off a fan or two in Nashville when he ripped up a childs sign…Kid Kash is awesome!

      • Mr. Excitement says:

While Del Rio was coming to the ring at a house show, this woman (who recently worked a reality TV show) was with her son and he had a sign. Del Rio grabbed it and ripped it (like what most heels do to build heat). Kid started crying and it's said he was crying through the whole show until after the car ride home or something.

I've also read this woman sent complaints to the WWE and all. Sheamus offered him an autographed photo.

Some say this woman is looking for more fame from this incident. Who knows..

        • Pippin0490 says:

          Thanks for explaining.

For a woman that recently worked a reality TV show, she sure knows nothing about reality! Heels will always rip up signs, it's been done for years, it's part of attending a live wrestling event. In fact, most people seem to like getting their signs ripped as they're part of the show, the sign is given back to them by security and it becomes a souvenir (so and so ripped my sign! Now it's on my wall!)

I highly doubt that that kid really cried through the enitre show and on the entire car ride home. That's hours of crying! That kid must have something wrong with them.

Sounds like yet another person that will do anything to get some degree of fame. How very sad and desperate!

  11. mrjdjr says:

ooooooo, my daddy can beat up your daddy. STUPID

  12. TwIsTeD_EnEmY says:

It was a class move by Dixie. But TNA talent do this sort of thing all the time.
I remember in Manchester this year Bully Ray said he would beat the living piss out of an 80 year old.
According to online reports, Alberto Del Rio only ripped up a boys sign. I dont know the rest of the story, but if that's it, than the little boy will have lots of fun watching iMPACT Wrestling ( a 15).
    Just saying.

It should also be noted that the mother of the boy was a "winner " on the TV show " shark tank" ( The british version of the dragons den ), So its sort of a publicity thing.

    • HolsG says:

Manchester was funny; thing is she was an 80yr old woman who would have allowed him to do that with her being a VIP (even steeling her walking stick), but this was an eight year old child who he taunted for crying.

p.s. TNA went PG a couple of months a go – apparently 😉

  13. HolsG says:

That's really good of her, she is right though; i could never imagine even one of the TNA stars making a child cry, they don't have the egos to think they can get away with it.
The worst one i've known was when Rhyno shouted at a fan when they were taking pictures but he told them he was joking and gave them a photo plus they were adults.

I really hope they go to BFG – hope cheer the kid up

    • Bigmike885 says:

youve never seen an TNA guy yell at a fan, or rip on the audiance while in charecter?..which is what Del rio did. The lady pushing this issue is dirt. She's wanting publicilty, she'll probobly use this to try to get a job in TNA.

      • HolsG says:

        The kid was 8!
Having an adult let alone a wrestler the size of Alberto will terrify him, TNA wrestlers have only had a go at adults – i've never seen a tna star pick on a child

        • Bigmike885 says:

do you know any 8 year olds?..i have a 8 year old son and know all his friends..not a single one of them would cry for hours after this. It really sounds like the mother pushed this along. Most of the kids i know would just have played into sure that what Del rio was going for (consdering most of the people at wwe showrs are need to get them to boo you)

  14. TwIsTeD_EnEmY says:

    What ?
    They better not have…

  15. pepsilover2008 says:

The plan was to go to pg, but their still rated tv-14. and even if they did it's been less noticeable, which only proves that you can have a good pg product
