Lots Of News & Notes On Eric Young Inside Here

— As noted earlier, Eric Young was featured on last night’s edition of “The Crossover” on NBCSports.

— Young was also on the Today Show this morning to promote his new show. He had fish and fishing gear to demonstrate what he does. He was very relaxed and informative. He came across very well according to a fan report.

— Young’s Off the Hook show returns to Animal Planet tonight.

I wish they'd cancel his show so he can return to TNA.

I know – that's awful, and I should be ashamed of myself, right?

    • godoftna says:

his current stint on the side lines was more due to having throat surgery recently than his show, and before that his contract with TNA had lapsed. He's definitely a great talent and needs to get more screen time on IMPACT for sure. Wish they had given his heel turn when he formed World Elite more of a shot as he seemed to be on the cusp of joining the main event picture.,

world elite should have gone on for much longer ey is the best

        • godoftna says:

so true. WorldElite had an oppurtunity to be one of the great heel stables in wrestling. With EY, Kiyoshi, British Invasion, and Homicide, they had a diverse group of performers who all could have excelled if given the right push. Following his battles with Kurt Angle, AJ Styles could have turned to a feud with EY that would have torn the house down and carried the company into the new year and beyond. It certainly had the chance at being far superior to Immortal by any and all standards. Imagine EY as the World champion, Kiyoshi as the Global/TV champion, British Invasion as Tag champs, and Homicide as X division champion. Would have been awesome to behold.

You can thank jim cornett for his push being sidelined, because he didn't think eric deserved a push.

  2. jbcissom says:

EY has "it". Seriously, drop the ho-hum comedy routine (there can still be a few funny moments) and pair this dude with Sting as a mentor.

  3. Peckar says:

I disagree with you all. Playing a comedy gimmick is what he excels at. He is one of the most entertaining wrestlers on the roster. Why fix it if its not broken. He is over due to that fact, not World Elite, Not everyone needs to be in the world title picture, he would add something to a TV title.

    • hangers says:

The problem for Eric is, it's going to get harder and harder for anyone to take him seriously in the ring the longer he does the comedy gimmick. Look at Santino Marella who takes that fool seriously? And Chavo, it's really doubtful he can ever be taken seriously either given how long he was a joke in the WWE too.. It's all well and good now, but how about when fans get bored of him playing the goofball, it'll be too hard and too late to change.

      • Peckar says:

Who wants to eat fish and chips all the time? You need comedy gimmicks to break up the show. If someone is good at it, why would you change it? He is more over than 95 percent of the roster, just need to listen to the crowd to know that. Santino was never that over, nor does Eric have some stupid cobra wrestling move. The only similarity is they both are comedy gimmicks. So?

        • hangers says:

Did you actually read what I just wrote? I have no problem with comedy gimmicks, just what I wrote above..

          • Peckar says:

Yeah, I did. You compared him to people who aren't any where near as popular. Did I miss something?

          • hangers says:

Yea, right, Eric young is way more popular than those guys, he's practically a household name, and his comedy gimmick is going to solidify his status as an elite wrestler…

          • Peckar says:

No TNA wrestler aside from Sting, Hogan and Hardy would be bbigger names than any WWE wrestler. Does that make them better? Hell no. EY gets a big pop from all the small TNA crowds. The ones you mention get next to nothing from there 20000+ crowd. Sarcasm is the lowest form of humour, especially when used as a last ditch effort to get your point across.

          • hangers says:

Sarcasm, Me, no..I was agreeing with you, coversation closed…

    • tnadude says:

Not only that, but a funny-guy champion would help kick the industry in the pants. It would take an extended build-up, but booked properly it's a possibility.

  4. Steven kelly says:

Ey n odb are just priceless together 🙂

  5. Real Deal Heel says:

    EY is a funny bastard.

  6. Worst in the world says:

EY is now on world heavy weight track, he must not put to tag or x division again , he will be a better champ than hardy and bully ray.

  7. hangers says:

Good luck to him, hope his show does really well..

  8. HolsG says:

    i.e. nothing wrestling related…..
Really want him back full time – such an under rated wrestler, he's well overdue for his push

  9. whatsup121 says:

    EY is awesome hands down
