Mick Foley Speaks Out On Hulk Hogan, More

During an interview to promote WrestleMania 29, Mick Foley was asked about Hulk Hogan. After providing some kind but brief words on The Immortal, the Hardcore Legend then listed off the five performers that he feels are the best draw in professional wrestling history. Foley said:

“You have Hogan, you have your class of five greatest drawing cards of all time. I’m putting it five randomly. Hogan’s definitely there, Rock, Austin, Andre and Bruno, as my top five. I think any one of those guys could argue why they were the top drawing card of their era.”

I can see four of those five being big draws today, because in a sense, they still are… Hogan, Rock, Austin, and Andre. I just don't know how Bruno would make it in today's world as a wrestler. I mean he was Kurt Angle before Kurt Angle was born for crying out loud.

And if you think so, there is no disrespect coming from this.

It is relative to the time period though. Bruno or Andre probably wouldn't be top draws today. Andre would be a bigger draw because he was so large, but even if you go back to his best days, he still was not a great worker. He would probably be somewhere between the Great Khali and Big Show to be honest. However, guys like Rock and Austin wouldn't have been top draw faces in Bruno and Andre's era either. Rock and Austin were essentially foul mothed heels who the fans would have hated. They could have drawn as heels, but it would only be because the fans wanted to their favorite babyfaces to beat them up.

how could someone who's long gone still be a big draw?

what about people like Roddy Roddy Piper and Mr. Perfect those characters stole the show and we remember them for that reason because of the character and they're in ring ability

Sting should of been in that list
