More On Last Week’s Post-TNA Lockdown iMPACT! Rating

As noted earlier here on the website, Thursday’s post-Lockdown episode of iMPACT! Wrestling drew a 1.07 (1.1) cable rating. This figure is down from 1.13 rating the week before and 1.14 two weeks ago for Jeff Hardy’s televised return.

Viewership declined slightly from last week, to 1.41 million viewers from 1.43 million. Two weeks ago, the program drew 1.49 million viewers.

The rating was dragged down by poor first hour viewership, which marked as a 0.96 rating. The second hour drew a 1.19 rating, with a strong 1.24 quarter hour at the end of the show for the conclusion of the Sting vs. Austin Aries match and Aces and Eights brawling with members of the TNA roster.

You can't really expect movement week 1. Since most viewers aren't going to see Lockdown, there won't be that much excitement over anything on it. It would probably be 6 months down the line before any word of mouth increases viewership, if there is even a demand for it. I don't think they expected more, probably more concerned with ticket sales coming in to pay the costs of the shows on the road. Either way, at least they will get some valuable results out of it on their product. Unlike the move to Monday, where the show never actually even moved off Thursday.

I notice that Dixie tweeted something about the DISH network changing the number of Spike without notice?

Yes Dish moved Spike to a weird channel placement. I noticed the old channel missing Thurs morning & found the new channel location in a search. At the time I wondered if this would effect the ratings.
