More On The Great Muta’s Meeting With TNA Today

Partial Source:

As previously reported, Japanese pro wrestling legend and former WCW star The Great Muta was at TNA Headquarters today.

Muta met with Jeff Jarrett (view a photo from the meeting) and TNA’s Andy Barton about the idea of TNA sending talent to his new Wrestle-1 promotion.

Jimmy Suzuki, a longtime photographer in Japan, was also at the meeting.

One would assume if TNA sends talent to Wrestle-1, that the exchange would be reciprocated, however nothing is confirmed at this point.

More on the meeting should be revealed in the next few days.

Invasion angle? Another promotion calling out the TNA roster… it could work

    • Sturk says:

TNA has done talent switches before. They don't do invasion angles with them though. If history stands, they won't this time either. Although it could be good.. They'd need an English mouth piece though. Foreigner angles have never worked in wrestling though. It only works if you treat them like you treat americans, bring them in, develop them, get them over.

It was reported on this site within the last two months that TNA had severed all ties with the Jarretts. Is Jeff back in the picture now?

What ever happened to TNA's working relationship with AAA ?

  4. jflegler says:

This move is strategic and has nothing to do with storylines.

  6. whatsup121 says:

This would be great for TNA as they used

To do things with New Japan Wrestling

  7. nate says:

Your right twisted enemy! The AAA relationship with TNA must have died down or just died completely! Its too bad too! I am sure that AAA has some talent that would do TNA some good! I wonder if the visit by Muta has anything to do with the #August1warning storyline.

This could be a big move for TNA as it will allow them to tap into some of Japan's top talents. WCW benefitted from a cross promotional deal with New Japan back in the 90's, and a similar deal could open up TNA's international appeal even more. If used properly, some of the japanese imports could become big successes in the states. Bringing in more foreign talents from both Japan and Mexico could also help to upgrade the X, Tag Team, and KO divisions by allowing TNA to use newer stars without the full burden of carrying them on the roster. And how about a new X division World Cup?
