Press Release: TNA & Bellator MMA Synergy

TNA issued the following press release on Dixie Carter’s appearance on Bellator MMA this week:

Top names in pro wrestling to make history in new markets across the US, Hardy signs long term agreement with company

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 8, 2013) – TNA IMPACT WRESTLING President Dixie Carter announced during last night’s Bellator fight, live from Atlanta on Spike TV, that “IMPACT WRESTLING” will air live from three new locations: Jonesboro, Ark. on Thursday, March 28 from the Arkansas State University Convention Center; Corpus Christi, Texas on April 11 at the American Bank Center; and Duluth, Ga. (Atlanta) on June 6 from the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Carter also announced that current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy has signed a long-term contract. He will return to “IMPACT WRESTLING” on Spike TV at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Feb. 28.

“Being able to make these announcements on Bellator last night shows the synergy between our two brands,” says Carter. “Jonesboro has not broadcasted a pro wrestling worldwide TV taping in more than a decade, and with the return of Hulk Hogan, this will truly be a historic night. This will be our second consecutive, live broadcast from the road after leaving the Impact Zone in early March. We are expecting to have a great crowd in Chicago on March 14 and continue the excitement in Jonesboro and Corpus Christi,” she said.

One interesting occurrence, left unmentioned during the live Bellator fight, was the unusual ringside interaction shared between Carter and TNA wrestler AJ Styles.

“I had to do a double take when I saw AJ,” said Carter. “He was cold, distant and unapproachable.”

More information regarding “IMPACT WRESTLING” on the road will be announced soon. Visit for our latest updates.

I'm interested to see if maybe AJ styles ends up with Aces & Eights. Could it be possible that he's the leader? I'm really enjoying IMPACT right now. They're keeping me guessing which is sucking me right in.

Taz said something about transcribing to a 'higher power'. This would denote a TNA authority figure or the return of Jeff Jarrett. Would be great if it was Jim Cornette.

Heel turn on the cards for AJ and it cant come soon enough..

    • THISISASHOOT247 says:

if you all remember back in like 2005 when Billy Kidman turned heel and started doing the Shooting Star and landing on his opponents heads with his knees to injure them? I think that AJ will come back as that type of heel with a new finisher, less remorse, and a heel Jericho-esque attitude.

  3. Treck says:

First off I think its smart for TNA to concentrate on the south. That is where most wrestling fans are in United States. Second I would rather enjoy AJ in aces and eights. Would not make sense as the president. We know the vice president is D’lo unless they are trying to fool is because Jarrett as president and AJ as vice president would be bad ass! Then the ne Abyss in there that we saw awhile ago because I like Joseph Parks :)

Jeff Jarrett is somehow in the higher up status of A's & 8's I would guess. Some of you may not want this to be true, and maybe it's not, but I think Eric Bischoff is up there too. Not always a fan of his but I did like his non wrestler power man position in NWO. Let's say he is one of the guys who makes matches for TNA. A's & 8's already have their own commentator . they need their own man with some power. A match maker. by the way, keep that psycho killer of heart Jim Cornette away from TNA. any body who says if it was legel they would kill another person needs mental or spiritual help, or jail. Referring to his comments about Russo. The man didn't steal his woman or kill his momma. he simply didn't write wrestling scripts to Jim's satisfaction.

    Its Jarret and Bischoff…duh!
