Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

AJ Styles has still not signed a new contract with TNA as of yesterday morning. The two sides are still negotiating.

As recently as last month they were having issues over how much Styles would be paid to return.

Tna needs to sign him already.

  2. TNA_Warrior_UK says:

    Sign him up long-term!

    • Philly_Cheese says:

I don't think that's going to happen with the money issues, if he's locked to a long term deal he'll be making a set amount that entire time, and that can be horrid for someone's career. We're not talking about WWE who signs people for very lucrative amounts, and has them appear consistently… TNA as of recently has been signing people to per appearance deals, and if they happen to cut him off TV he'll be sitting at home making diddly and unable to work anywhere else (unless of course his contract allows him to, which is rare).

      • TNA_Warrior_UK says:

I can understand pay per appearance contracts for certain wrestlers, but this is AJ. He should be the face of TNA. He was there before the likes of Jeff Hardy and I always assumed he would be there long after. Only time will tell.

  3. gar2233 says:

why did he come back at the dec 4 tna taping it will air jan 2
if he has not signed yet?

  4. jbcissom says:

Take notice of the source. A source that has rarely reported the truth about TNA, and as a matter of fact, has never dismissed an opportunity to shine a negative light on TNA.

  5. HolsG says:

He's the one wrestler TNA need. I'd go as far to say get rid of Hardy to keep AJ.
Everyone knows Hardy for his WWE career anyway.

Really hope they resign him or they're likely to be in more trouble – losing the poster boy after 11 years…

  6. TheMiwyun says:

    he obv is signed

  7. D3ke43 says:

TNA needs to sign him up and soon

  8. Dartvada says:

This site knows nothing of AJ and TNA. Speculation.

  9. sidney86 says:

He probably signed a new deal ages ago! Why would they announce it with the current story line going on? He turned down the contract on TV, goes off with the title, future uncertain etc. No one is going to believe any of that if they announce he's signed another 2 year deal or something at the same time!

    *****SPOILERS*****

He's booked for Genesis against the winner of the world title tournament who i will not name. Considering his extension was until december and Genesis is in January he must've been signed.

    *****SPOILERS*****

  11. Quess says:

He lost the belt to Magnus which will air n January. Said his goodbye’s. Apparently so has Hardy. Could b a work, who knows.

  12. fritiz1 says:

Unfortunately for AJ he may be stuck getting less money from TNA. While fans love him that's never translated to higher ratings or PPV buys. He's also been such a huge part of TNA if he would sign with WWE they would have to squash him so everyone would know WWE is still better. He could be huge in ROH but I don't think he could make the money with them and doing Indy shows he can in TNA. Unless he wants to go overseas TNA is still going to be his best bet.

  13. hammers362 says:

He will fight Magnus at genesis and it's just a storyline

    • fritiz1 says:

Stop reading if you don't want spoilers:

Based on the after match comments by AJ he is not resigned. You don't say things like "storyline or no storyline" in a promo to promt a storyline and give shoot comments. I hope AJ is back once he realizes he will get his best deal from TNA but its not just a storyline.

  14. DJBIGCG says:

It's a shame when people just praise spoilers. If all sports had spoilers, and everybody read them, there would be no need to watch sports and that's not cool. Its fun to watch sports not knowing ahead of time who is going to win

  15. Quess says:

Exactly… I love pro wrestling so much I never thought I’d spoil. I’m sorry. BUT It’s stale… is n jeopardy
