Report: TNA iMPACT! To Switch TV Networks

As we’ve been reporting, the belief backstage in TNA is that the company will not stay with Spike TV when its extension with the network ends. The impression amongst those in the company is that TNA has found a new network, though not a large one, and that Spike apparently wants out of the wrestling business. We’re told SpikeTV extending iMPACT! through 2014 is them simply “being nice” and giving TNA enough time to find another network.

While negotiations are ongoing between TNA and Spike, it’s said that they aren’t serious at this point. Part of the reason for the belief is that the question is being regularly brought up backstage of how willing Spike is to work with the company in switching to a new network.

I dont see the reasoning behind Spike not being interested in keeping one of it's biggest ratings drawers. Could someone enlighten me?

imo the CW network is the best fit for TNA if they don't resign with spike. It has time open for TNA shows and we might even see the new saturday morning TNA xpolsion .TNA TNA

the reason i say the CW is that its a new national network [not cable]so more potential viewers plus they have available air time and i was thinking a 5 year deal so advertising would be worthwhile

cw in no longer nation wide..it has nation wide ability, but their affilates are local. I live in a city of close to a million people and we don't have CW..i don't think CW would be the right choice.

yes i have heard that some spots where switched to digital channels but it is still on regular tv so more viewers then cable. and their schedule is far from full even with their fall line up its not perfect but you gotta say on tv to be relevent.

If this is true I believe it has to be the ION network with 101,370,000 million available households compared to spike the 98.7 million. ION would do a lot better promoting Impact Wrestling. This is good news for me as I can drop to a lower priced cable package.

Ok I hope next network will be doing much more advertising than now

    • seabee44 says:

TNA have to do their own promotion but that's not worth while to promote a network on 2 year deals it has to be for 5 years.

What happened to the rumors of TNA landing on AMC? Or was that a load of crap?

  7. tna24 says:

i wonder what network is it. it not a big one so could be a channel like truetv? either way i really want to know what network it is. i think it good for tna to try something new since tna not going to grow anymore with spike

  8. Kyle says:

There’s a difference between trying something new, and being forced to try something new. Leaving Spike, wasn’t TNA’s choice. Personally, it’s meh for me. They’ve been really bad since just before Hogan and Bischoff signed on. I stopped DVRing it a month ago.

  9. hangers says:

    Perhaps KVWN San Diego..

  10. kirkybou says:

    WGN maybe?

  11. BigAl says:

TNA Has been offered a deal on Discoverys Velocity channel. But the money for TNA is very bad. Its all over the net man.

  12. Matthew says:

Velocity may not be so bad. The money isn’t there for TNA with the deal, but I know TNA would be better promoted.
