Ric Flair is booked to appear at the upcoming RAW and SmackDown tapings on 1/21 in San Jose and 1/22 in Sacramento. Flair will then leave to Japan to make appearances for All Japan Pro Wrestling.

According to a report sources, Flair is working on a per-night deal with WWE and is not under contract. This allows Flair to take bookings with independent promotions and other outside appearances like All Japan. TNA is still sending feelers to him following his appearances on WWE television.

We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. Stay tuned!

so..they wanted him gone when he caused problems..then he goes and apperes on WWE TV and bam.they want him back..thats kind of sad..

    • Philly_Cheese says:

We don't know if that's really the case, as this site can claim any number of things. Seems a little strange that TNA would want anything to do with Flair after the way he conducted himself. After all he caused huge problems for them over in the UK during a tour, demanded being fronted money, and no showed several times for events he demanded money for in advance. The guy is seriously lucky he's a legend and get away with having a work ethic like that, because if it was anyone else they'd be considered completely undesirable to any company.

      • IHNSAIN says:

must say i totally agree the man was worth a bit of trouble once but now he is useless all he is is a name and becoming not a very gd one

only reason i can think of y tna would want him is to come bk with aj styles and i must admit would not mind seeing that they where gd together aj was almost actually hated and that was jst partly cause he was with ric sadly as we all know he is a liability

        • Philly_Cheese says:

That's my point exactly, he's simply not worth the money they'd have to spend on him. Unfortunately TNA lost money on him several times and had a lot of fans upset, especially during their tour in the UK. For several house shows they had Flair advertised and he just flat out no showed, I believe he even no showed for autograph signings. Flair is no longer about the fans, but about himself and getting paid. It's sad to see someone so highly respected and talented fall from his former glory in the 80s & 90s.

      • Bigmike885 says:

i agree with almost everything you said, except for the work ethic comment. In his hayday he was a workhorse..and got screwed over more than once by not condoning how hes acted, but talk about his work ethic is stupid..

        • Philly_Cheese says:

He USED to be a workhorse and regarded as one of the most respected wrestlers in the industry. He's fell from grace since the 90s… The reason why I use the word work ethics is because being paid and not doing what you're paid to do is considered poor work ethic. I can see why WWE is doing pay-by-appearance, because of the habit he has of asking to be fronted money and no showing. If they gave him a contract he could do it all he wanted, and never get released from his contract without a hefty pay-off (appearances he would've made if WWE didn't fire him). TNA was forced to keep him until his contract expired because of his contract, and their inability to release him without paying him.

  2. The Truth says:

Flair is WWE in heart… He won’t come to tna. Maybe we can get David!! WWWWWOOOOOOO!!!

    • IHNSAIN says:

i like dave but dnt think he fits in with tna

yeh flair is wwe at heart as long as wwe pay him per night he will always think he has a chance of a contract when they get something long term for him

      • Bigmike885 says:

Im pretty sure Truth was using sarcasim…David hasnt wrestled in a decade and was really only there for the real company would hire him now..

        • IHNSAIN says:

cough boby cough lashley cough and yeh im sure it was sarcasm but i do like dave noot to bad mike skills he has done a bit of mma prob in better shape than he even was before give him 3 months at ovw

hell he would beat the shit out doc and and mike
*edit* w8 are we talking bout the same dave cause he only left like i think 4 years ago maybe 3 cause he was wwe when me and the misses got together 5 years ago

  3. tigerpie says:

hmmm maybe not from a marketing point….
If TNA could somehow manage to drag his back in, then maybe he will also "Drag" some new fans back that have seen him on WWE…
or maybe TNA just want him to come in on a per show basis to help with some sort of ludicrous story line….
OR they could be promising him a lucritive deal, then after he does the shows they dump him without paying him as a way of trying to square the ledger with him, so to speak, when he left last time.

who knows who cares, its only Ric Flair… why did i bother writing this!

    • rawuncutnxrated says:

Good question. Why did you write this? Manti Te'o makes more sense than the dribble you come up with.

    • tnadude says:

Maybe they'll put him in a love triangle with Bully & Brooke!

    • Bigmike885 says:

are you seriously suggesting that TNA bait and switch him on money? That would be a HUGE mistake by TNA as Flair could sue the crap out of them..doesnt matter how he acted in the past, you dont do're setting yourself up for a huge lawsuit if you do something as retarted as that.

  4. Stunner says:

If Ric could continue to be a free agent and do this with some success, think of the possibilities it could open up! For TNA I mean, it could open up for say like a John Morrison to appear on IMPACT! TNA could match the quote “Star power of the WWE at half the price” ! An then really open things up as far as Storylines go!

    • rawuncutnxrated says:

And then they can have Melina come in & be a Knockout, and then they can call MVP and have the matches WWE did in 2006. Then, they can come into A&8's and be friends, then they can follow Jeff Hardy home & jump him & Matt for being more successful than they have been. Then Matt signs with TNA, then we get more matches from 2005. Then they will give TNA all their money & say they were in it just for the fame.

      Dude, shut up.

    • Bigmike885 says:

that just screams..HEY LOOK AT US!!! ALL THE GUYS WWE DOESNT WANT COME HERE!!!..WE'RE NUMBER 2!!! WE'RE NUMBER 2!!!…..dumbest idea ever.

      • IHNSAIN says:

so does that mean that when really gd wrestlers drop down from tna to roh that makes roh 3rd i mean wwe choose to let jay leathel go now he is with roh so that makes roh less superior

mvp and john morrison would not be a bad add for more xdiv john and tv title mvp jst cause they where with wwe and are not now does not make them worse than wwe wrestlers jst now ppl are stupid

      • JoeWrestling says:

They are No.2. You are implying somehow they won't look like No.2 if they don't? I think John Morrison quit WWE, I wasn't aware he was a guy WWE didn't want. Ric Flair has been in plenty of organizations. If WWE doesn't want Flair it would only be because they have plenty of people already, and don't need him. So apparently if WWE already has 120 people under contract, so someone has to be let go or not hired because you can only have so may guy then basically those wrestlers can't work anymore in their profession because anyone hiring them will look lesser. Besides, if TNA is willing to pay him a large salary but perhaps WWE isn't willing to pay as much just because they don't need him, they may not want to pay so much when Flair can't wrestle.

        • Philly_Cheese says:

Well to the original poster, Matt will never be resigned. Morrison, MVP, and Melina all asked for their release from WWE. Both Morrison and MVP said they didn't like the way WWE was run, and how the business is when you're working for them.

  5. incognitowolfe says:

hogan loves and wants flair. Nothing wrong with that, he's funny in non-pg tv.
Have u seen the crap they make him do in wwe? Wow it's so diminishing.
Go to TV 14 TV RIC! And tell them to ride SPACE MOUNTAIN! AWOOOOOOOOOOO

  6. hangers says:

Time for TNA to move on and focus on the new blood…

    • rawuncutnxrated says:

Haha.. yea right. This is TNA & you've been saying that for 7yrs.. and yet they still don't sign new blood. Who is more insane, them or you? I say you.

      • Dirk1n says:

        Do you even watch Impact?
It doesn't sound like it, more like you read the occasional headline.

Taeler Hendrix, Sam Shaw, Alex Silva, Jay Bradley, Xema Ion, Joey Ryan, Christian York, Kenny King.
I could add Garett Bischoff, he's not exactly a WWE vetran, and there's Robbie E, Robbie T, Wes Brisco, Gunner, Crimson, Jesse Sorenson, Jessie Godderz, King Mo and they're signing a UK wrestler soon.

        • tnadude says:

And you actually missed Austin Aries, Storm and Roode who are main eventing and while Storm and Roode have been around a while, neither had performed for Vinny Mac.

So, yeah – TNA does have it's own blood and Hogan & Bischoff actually ARE promoting them.

          • Justbringit says:

Roode actually wrestled in WWF on the small shows like Metal you can view his matches on YouTube…

        • Bigmike885 says:

anot not one single name you mentioned on here draws a dime..(Brisco maybe someday)…

          • IHNSAIN says:

lol aa storm and bobby rude dnt draw 2 of them are part of the gr8st tag team in tna ever all u seen was beer money t shirts but im guessing ur rude up ur self and dnt believe that u can ever be wrong and woued argue black is white so not even gona waste my time here lol go watch wwe and have a ham shank

          • Bigmike885 says:

Dude. I was talkin about the list above. Not roode or storm (even though They don't really draw ratings I buys but that's ok)Sent from my iPhone

          • tnadude says:

You got thumbs down for that? Someone's drinking too much Kool Aid again. I'd add Crimson and Gunner to the list of possibilities, but they are still a good 10 years away at this point.

  7. DJBIGCG says:

Ric flair has talked a lot of mess about tna on different videos on more then one occasion and flair has been back on wwe tv. Even with that tna still wants him. What a shame

  8. Treck says:

Ric Flair is the president of aces and eights! Lol. But imagine that. Bischoff by the way is not the real president of aces and eights he just was a part of the who sting and hogan going after Joseph Parks to throw people off

  9. TwIsTeD_EnEmY says:

I wouldn't mind Flair coming back. I was liking him with Gunner and co.
My only concerns are his loyalty, his attittude and the fact that he commands a high per-performance salary.

  10. mb113 says:

That would be a good swerve if he was the man behind Aces and 8s.

  11. HolsG says:

He does bring ratings, and unfortunately he knows it. He's not worth the hassle with the way he treats them though, We've got other wrestlers who bring in ratings (dare i say it) Hogan does and he puts a lot in to the business, TNA doesn't need to be treat like crap to succeed.

    • IHNSAIN says:

would not really say he is a draw ratings never went up when he joined and never went down when he left same with hogan really sadly wwe marks dnt take time to watch more than one tna show to decide its rubbish we relly need a new market wrestling is on a low atm hopefully it gets bk on the up at some point soon and tna are ready and able to grab the new market i give pro wrestling wwe included 20 years at this rate

    • Bigmike885 says:

you need to say this in PAST tense..He USED to bring he does not..

      • IHNSAIN says:

y would i have to say that i know i dnt use .', and proper punctuation but im sure its clear im on about his start at tna ratings stayed bout the same and when he left guess what they where still the same hell even going bk to immortal id have kissed his feet now i would not even piss on them

ok so this is a edit lols its 3 am i have jst notised ur prob reply to the guy above i f so then i agree lolz : ) thats it im off here

  12. WARISNAUGHTY says:

If they do this I will shit my pants and cry.

  13. Matthew says:

If TNA is interested in flair again there’s only one reason he’s back with WWE. You don’t know how to utilize talent as good as WWE. How is the WWE retirement home doing.
