Scott Steiner Counter-Sues TNA Wrestling

Scott Steiner has filed a counter-suit in response to the lawsuit filed against him by TNA. As previously reported, TNA filed suit against Steiner in June for breach of contract, saying that Steiner breached said contract (which had expired at that point) when he made remarks against TNA, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, among others, and sought damages as well as an injunction against Steiner to keep him from making further comment.

Steiner’s counter-suit, filed on the 10th of this month, claims that TNA breached the contract by failing to provide a contractually-obliged accounting of royalty payments, failing to provide statements of all merchandise and video royalties and failed to pay all royalties due. Steiner requested compensation in a “yet to be determined amount.”

Steiner said in his filing that he never agreed not to speak against the company; thus, speaking out could not breach his contract. He also denied being involved in an effort to disparage TNA or its executives and noted that his contract expired and he never accepted a new contract. He wants the lawsuit against him dismissed and requested a jury trial should it go that far.

So not only is tna suing wwe, there suing scott steiner and also not alowing there wrestlers to work at indy events for a little extra money and be on a dvd. But tna can take wwe's cm punk and make money off of him in a dvd, now ain't that somethin'. Also Tna sure are some hypocrites

    • DigestivBiscuit says:

TNA DOES allowed they wrestlers to complete at the Indy events but not to appear on the DVD which will not benefit TNA WRESTLING. Speaking of TNA using WWE's Punk on they DVD, look at how many DVD WWE sales features TNA star Hulk Hogan. Once upon a time many company and people took advantage of TNA and get away with it but not today baby, not to day.

      • Bigmike885 says:

youre argument is a joke. Punk was in TNA for about 2 minutes. They have about 2 matches on tape with him in it. They just wanted to take advantage of Punk becoming a star last year. WWE puts out DVDs of Hogan because the OWN every single significant peice of footage of his career. It makes sense to make those DVD's. TNA making a punk DVD is stupid.

        • soulbadguy says:

It's a smart move and a perfect timing(especially for a small footage), do you think it was better off for tna to have done it when punk's already late in his boring career? ROH also did the same with aries when he became champion but you don't see anyone complain about it.

          • Mr. Excitement says:

So if TNA had a star who boomed and became huge, and if WWE had some old footage on him and made a DVD about it, everyone here would tear WWE apart.. lol

Who cares if TNA makes money on footage of Punk. Who cares if WWE makes money on footage of Hogan. They can do whatever they like since they OWN the footage they're using.

          • soulbadguy says:

^ someone book this guy against jeff… and joker!

    • toddmikki says:

are you stupid DJ? There not allowed to make a DVD of their owned assets! TNA owns their wrestlers and leases them out to Indys, The indys cant make a DVD of the wrestler while they are just leasing TNA talent. The Punk/Aries/Hogan videos are from footage of when each respective company owned that particular Talent! Its not like TNA is taping Christian everytime he appears for TNA from WWE and selling it. Just like wwe isnt selling Ric Flair DVDs of the HoF ceremony when TNA owned him.

  2. hangers says:

Unless it's a storyline, which is very very doubtful, TNA should just drop the whole thing and move on..

    • TheeCrusher says:

Liable is a major deal in business and court, as is slander. Steiner's a bitter old man who has committed crimes with his slander and needs to be held accountable.

      • hangers says:

Bitter or not I just dont think its a good look for the organisation, as for crimes, well thats yet to be proven. As for the old man tag, what does that make hogan?

  3. JeffandJoker says:

This story to me really means that TNA is having some money problems !!!

Scott Steiner couldn't say he wasn't paid money owed to him by TNA if it wasn't true. So I have to assume that TNA didn't pay him all the money they owed him.

Maybe TNA should pay their talent !!!!

    • Dirk1n says:

Why couldn't Steiner say something that isn't true? everybody else in the world can lie or be wrong but Steiner can't?

"He also denied being involved in an effort to disparage TNA or its executives"
That right there isn't true, some of his stuff was directed at the company and not just Hogan, Bischoff and whoever else

      • JeffandJoker says:

If he was not telling the truth, because its in court isn't it perjury??? I understand that if you lie, its one thing, but if you sign a court document and lie then its perjury.

        So I do see a HUGE difference. . . .

        • kevinroulette says:

Scott Steiner is a nutt . I'm sure like in most entertainment contracts, they have things in fine print like don't talk bad about company and 90 day rule. Tna is not hurting for money , they are making money . Plus over seas they beat the wwe , plus ra king ka ? . Steiner just didn't sell merch. I never saw anyone in he's gear . He's washed up now and can't get an press unless it's bad . I use to like him back in the day with he's brother. Plus in the nwo .

        • toddmikki says:

perjury….. as in what Bill Clinton did? oh yea you deffinitely cant get away with perjury! lol

        • TheeCrusher says:

It's illegal even if it's not in court. People have been sued, and lost, over slanderous comments made on FB and Twitter!

    • TheeCrusher says:

Steiner's a bitter ex employee. If you believe his rants, which he is notorious for fabricating in the past, I feel sorry for you.

  4. tnadude says:

Just in time for Aces & 8s. Been a while for Steiner. Can't wait to have him back!

  5. Real Deal Heel says:

I'd like to see a Roast of Hulk Hogan with Linda Hogan, Steiner, Warrior, Scott Hall, and Raven sitting around him with a couple of bottles of booze. Who wouldn't watch that?

  6. whatsup121 says:

everybody is suing everybody can't we all just get along
