Spike TV To Make Major Changes – Is TNA iMPACT! Safe?

Spike TV executives have been talking about re-branding the network, with more of an emphasis on reality television and programming for women. They are even considering changing the name of the network, if necessary.

Despite these changes, TNA iMPACT! is believed to be safe, since it’s one of their highest rated shows and it’s seen as a strong lead-in for Bellator MMA.

Didn't TNA used to be spikes highest rated program ?
Does Bellator get higher ratings ?

Bellator does exceed TNA in ratings but not by much, they tend to be very close week to week. Last I checked Bellator averages about 1.1 ~ 1.4, while TNA as of recent averages 1.0 ~ 1.3

Spike seems to have any show cap off at about 1.4 at most on any given night. It's kind of funny they want to put more emphasis on reality shows, yet most TV networks can tell you reality TV is dead now. There's not even a reality show that cracks the top twenty highest rated shows… Top four as of right now: Grey's Anatomy, The Walking Dead, How I Met Your Mother, and The Big Bang Theory. Spike seriously needs to catch up with the times… They're airing a genre that hasn't been popular in nearly 7 years now…

Tna's rating usually is 1.0 and that's spike tv highest rated show. Looks like nobody watches spike tv or at least not that many people compared to USA

  3. HolsG says:

Is the whole world going to be reality shows?
The UK has been taken over by them because it's cheap and there's idiots who watch it

    • Philly_Cheese says:

Here in the US reality TV is considered dead… There's no reality show that even cracks the top 20 anymore, since Jersey Shore is now completely done and over. That show here in the US was the only reality show in 7 years to crack the top 15.

I suppose that another factor in TNA's favour is that they have a certain Eric Bischoff involved with their product who has his own TV production company that makes reality shows for various networks.

without tna spike would be hurting right now. spike need alot of work to get people to watch their channel. i wonder what this channel going to be like with the changes.

  6. tna24 says:

even if spike dump tna. i bet tna could find a channel. i bet turner would let them use true Tv

Ted has been out of the wrestling business a long time. Cost him a bucket load lof money. Always makes me smile when I read people talk about him being involved again.

  7. tna24 says:

how many reality shows are even out there anymore. i see some of the big channels have a few here and there, but too have your channel base mostly off that would be crazy. spike is taking a risk doing this. top channels like CBS, fox NBC and ABC at most have like 2 or 3 realty shows

  8. JoeWrestling says:

Reality shows don't get ratings? What are you people looking at. Look at the top cable shows for the week. #3 & #4 is Duck Dynasty. #6 is Swamp people. They have like 8 million / 4 million people watching. Then last week Pawn Stars was in #6 & #7 spots also with 5 million viewers, and American Pickers at #15 with 4 million viewers. Those Duck Dynasty, Pawn Stars, and Swamp People get higher ratings than WWE RAW.
