TNA Adds New Content To Their Paid YouTube Channel

As a reported yesterday, TNA iMPACT! Wrestling has launched a paid YouTube channel, “TNA Wrestling Plus“, for a subscription fee of $4.99 per month. The company has added several pay-per-view events as well as superstar & compilation DVDs to the channel.

There is a free 14-day trial with every subscription to “TNA Wrestling Plus“, so you will have time to se if the service is worth it to you or not.

UFC and numerous other companies are doing the same thing as TNA with paid channels.

Not trying to bash TNA but they should not be doing paid subscriptions atm.

I'm wondering if this is the best idea?
Money wise, they are getting $1 for every thousand views on their videos.
Though, I'd have thought that the whole point of the TNA youtube channel would be to garner interest in their product.
ATM it seems they are looking to achieve short term goals > long term goals.

The companies working with Youtube get about 55% from the deal, so TNA would take about 2.65 a subscription. If they get say, 5K people, which I don't doubt they will, that is $13,000 a month, adding up to 156,000 a year– all for shows they have already done and material that they were already trying to sell. So not much loss for them.

You must also consider the cost that it takes for production to make/ cut/ upload these videos, not to mention the money that the talent are getting for starring in them.
Would they make any profit at all ?

I think they still have the old YouTube channel, the one that is free. I think they just added an additional channel, that you have to pay for.

    Easy. Money.

Simple as that. You get $4/month from just…..say 50,000 fans…..who wouldn't do that to get $200,000 pure profit back per month flowing in?

I think its quite a good idea tbh.
full access to a lot of their shows/ppv with decent quality. Not planning on subscribing but it's there for us
