TNA Insiting There Were No Crowd Plants At Lockdown

Partial Source:

Numerous people within TNA are insisting that there were no crowd plants who threw trash at Sunday’s Lockdown pay-per-view. The sources note that this would have been a major liability for the company as they could have been sued if a fan was hit by something that TNA initiated.

They may be trying to cover their asses now that word leaked out that there were plants. Bully Ray was telling officials backstage that he could get them that reaction if they wanted.

Of course there were. Wrestling uses plants and always has.

@OldManEaston – Uh oh man you’ve done it now. Watch out cause now all the tna mark ass bitch slap nut fans are gonna be all over you saying ur all VKM nuts and if u don’t like tna why are you on a tna site. Those are the only two things these 8 yr old tna fans boys always say. Oh sorry besides go back to watching that kiddie show. But what they fail to want to realize is that kiddie show must be doing something right cause they can sell out arenas and made a lot of money. Tna has empty arena matches cause no one wants to watch. So come on fan boys lets hear your criticism. Bitches

I don't think anyone is denying the fact that the WWE makes more money, they're better at marketing and have been around for about 50 years longer then TNA.

However, anyone with an objective view could tell you TNA is hands down the better wrestling product.

      • ariesstormjoe says:

wwe sell out arenas for a reason. cena, rock, lesnar, undertaker, punk, and to an extent hhh,

now wwe has been around what 60 years? as for the guys i listed…cena is the "face of the company" and he gets the biggest reaction from the crowd in wrestling id say. rock is a movie star and brings in a lot of casual viewers or to put it better those that "fell out" with wrestling from back in the early 2000s. lesnar again those that watched 10 years ago likely will tune in more now than back in 2007 cos they know lesnar more than say ryback.. undertaker their biggest star in terms of history imo. punk the top 3 guys in the business today. and hhh a lot more casuals tend to know him a bit more than say i dunno sheamus. what will be interesting is if wwe replace their top names as they age and retire. which they could do with guys from the shield, cesaro, kassius ohno, pac, and even ziggler, sandow, kofi. but they arent striking when the iron is hot so to speak.

you make it sound like TNA are doing poorly however look at them in 2002. look at them in 2013. big difference.

furthermore tna are a company with restrictions in terms of talent they can get hold of. compared to wwe that have restrictions however 1 has a far better tv product. and the other focuses on the outside world more than what they actually put into their tv shows.

        • Whatever says:

I don’t have a problem with tna at all just like I don’t have a problem with wwe at all. The way I see it is after WcW officially ended and the Monday night wars came to an end and the day VKM announced that the attitude era was over and they were ushering in the pg era, that is when wrestling completely died. ECW also.

My problem is with the fans who are closed minded and like to keep Tna on this mountain top while talking down about every single promotion that exist today. Even if the ppv was complete and total garbage, to them in their eyes it was the greatest thing on tv. They might say oh this match wasn’t so great or they should have done this. I know tna are passionate about the company they like but to talk down on a company that does extremely well in ticket sales and merchandise sales on top of everything else is just closed minded. And tna has done a lot better since 2002 but it always seems that when they do something good they immediately take two steps back.

My opinion is it has do do with bishoff going to Dixie and saying this worked when I ran WcW it should work again. He more than hogan was behind trying to get another Monday night war going but he will never take responsibility for that. Sorry for rambling on but this is just my opinion. Tna fans just don’t like to give credit where credit is due unless those people are working for Tna.

i think the way ppl are they expect more from wwe. in ticket sales. in ppv buyrates. in ratings.

and i think ppl look at wwe as a company that could do wrestling good. if wwe does good then the rest of the companies in the industry specifically tna and roh cos they are in america and on tv would serve them well.

but wwe are in comfortable position where they are relying on certain guys. id say their product is weak from top to bottom. this doesnt come from a tna fan. i was a bigger fan of wwe 10-15 years back. cos of the time in the business? or cos of the talents involved? for me wwe havent replaced talents like they should be doing. with the shield for example, id expect them to have more singles matches (1 so far lasted 36 seconds long) kofi, ziggler. cesaro, sandow, rhodes, the host of nxt talent like pac, ohno, xavier woods. i am hopeful could change that but they arent given a chance. sure they get put on tv. thats not a chance for me.

i see certain things tna are criticised for though wwe dont do any better in that area. eg. storylines. tna are seen as the better wrestling company. wwe for storylines. but wwe storylines are all over the place. with tna storylines i think they have too many talents for tv. but if they let their talent number drop that wouldnt be good. of course theres a few get rid offs like brooke hogan, garrett. tna are limited to the talent they can sign, use. for example knockouts. they will have a knockouts match at slammiversary. weeks beforehand that match will need to be built up. but when other knockouts are used in this same time frame it disrupts the other story being ran. which is why a host of talent sit at home for ages. when tna get a true 2nd show then improvements here would be seen. but wwe have what 8 hours of tv a week (counting ads). or at least not that far off yet can only manage cena vs rock as a heavily built up story. that seems weird to me.

tna dont get the credit for being the most progressive company in the last 10 years. it may not help when you have hogan saying things like "ill bring the ratings up". but dont know what else fans expect him to say.

think tna have a problem with ratings cos they have no real advertising, not enough promoting of their product which could be helped by the tv station they are on and their parent company. but due to their little input tna show to be doing well. whereas wwe have no excuse when say ratings drop. why? cos in a roundabout way they have 0 restrictions affecting them if they so wish.

both tna and wwe have a lot to do to improve their products and bring in good attention about wrestling as a whole. but where tna have a lot to do to improve. their improvements come from what they do off screen, backstage, and is gained by increasing history. wwe's improvements are what they can do on screen and should be doing anyway. that is a big difference i find,

    • OldManEaston says:

Just want to say, this is not a TNA vs WWE issue. It is a wrestling issue. Wrestling uses plants PERIOD! Even ECW, which a lot of fans want to believe was completely spontaneous heat all the time. It is just part of the business.

  2. powerbomb says:

    rumors rumors rumors…

  3. ViceyThaShizzle says:

So that fan who threw the drink in Sting's face was real too? Because if somebody got hit by that they might have been blinded, or worse yet had an allergic reaction and died. [/sarcasm]

    • KGill28 says:

Obviously not, this was a poor analogy on your part.
I was at Lockdown, and personally threw 2 water bottles in the ring, and many people around me was throwing trash as well, are you suggesting that all of us were planted there? And do you have any evidence for this, or are you just guessing?

      • ViceyThaShizzle says:

No, I am being sarcastic. Hence the [sarcasm] bit at the end. The fact is we will never know if they were planted or not, TNA aren't going to say so if they were, and people who were genuinely throwing shit such as yourself will claim it's genuine. I didn't really intend on getting into an actual debate about it, it's of trivial importance to me.

  4. KGill28 says:

There wasn't any plants, and until someone can provide evidence proving that there were, you will be written off as a bitter smark.
All of this "the crowd was planted" was started by Meltzer (who of course had no evidence) he just felt like denouncing TNA because he is the bitterest smark out there.

    • ariesstormjoe says:

id have used the word biggest instead of bitterest but anyway….

i could see them having a few plant fans in the crowd to do it but as the article says they could have been liable to be sued if a fan was hit or if a wrestler was hit with a solid object. and that is something they would know could happen if they incited the incident.

    • Bigmike885 says:

just the fact that you call everyone you disagrees with you and your ass kissing of TNA a mark makes you a mark son…If there were plants..of course TNA would deny it..for the reasons listed above and for thefact that it makes them look low rent…but you go ahead and use your words..kinda sound like Bischoff..

      • KGill28 says:

Do you have any evidence of there being plants?
        I didn't think so.

        • Whatever says:

Do u have any evidence that tna didn’t plant fans to throw. Until u can prove there wasn’t u will be written off as a bitter smark.

          • Jreese78 says:

You cant believe everything you read on the internet kid. Stop crying and go away…lol nobody cares

        • Bigmike885 says:

Do you have any evidence there wasn't? I don't think so. I'm sure noone was really that upset that bully ray turned.Sent from my iPhone

          • Jreese78 says:

You would be suprised kid…The seconded he called her a bitch. with kids listening. i swear i threw my drink…Damn sure i wasn't a plant. lol think i would know

          • Jreese78 says:

On top of that, did you see how many drinks were thrown? You're telling me over half the crowd were plants? lol really??

          • Bigmike885 says:

of course not..the report even states that they planted some people to START throwing…anticipting that others would follow suit..and it not saying its bad, but come to think that it didnt happen is stupid. Also..if you threw a drink because Ray used a foul word..then youre way to sensative..even if you have kids there..or do you expect TNA to be PG also

  5. Cam says:

Proof that they were planted. If anyone has seen when riots like that happens….security usually tries to get it under control, rather then just stand around and do nothing. Second if TNA’s fan base were as “smarks” as they claim, why would they be so upset over something that we already knew was going to happen??

    • Jreese78 says:

they did, again, you can't read everything you read over the internet. All you know of what happen is what you read of some mark blog site. I was there….Security was going nuts. Even noticed them showing anger of the aces and 8s not making a faster exit…..Find out what you're talking before embarrassing yourself.

      • Whatever says:

Nobody ever said that every fan in attendance was a plant, or even half the people. They have a few plants that start throwing things hoping people like u and many more follow along and throw things, and guess what it worked. It only takes one person to start a riot and they got u to do exactly what they wanted. Get over it

  6. Treck says:

I am sick of the www vs tna fan crap. And WWE fans on the internet are far worst than TNA’s fans. I cannot go to a tna site without seeing wwe loving trolls. So screw the over sensitive www fans. Your fellow fans come to. Tna’s you tube and other sites and just puke it up. So f off wwe fans this is about TNA if you like both that is fine. But know why some tna fans are sick of hearing about the wwe.

  7. Jreese78 says:

They weren't planted, the idiot who started that rumor is an example of whuy you cant bvelieve everything you read on the internet.

If they were planted. security surley didn't know about it, they were livid trying to fight half the crowd

  8. Jreese78 says:

just another internet mark who is clueless

    • Cam says:

Umm nobody embarrassed anyone, you tried to make it seem like I embarrassed myself but to correct you foolishness. Go back and watch, “hard camera” and if you don’t know what that is, look it up. You can clearly see security just standing around with their arms folded, nobody was going nuts because nobody honestly cared that much. The mark is the one who is trying to make the whole thing more then what really happen

  9. OldManEaston says:

Its still real to them DAMNIT! LOL

Think, everyone. This is professional wrestling and it is 2013, not 1993 and this was Bully Ray, not the biggest star in wrestling history turning heel. Plants started it, fans joined in. Mission accomplished.

  10. JoeWrestling says:

There were no plants throwing things. The argument that security didn't do anything is preposterous. If you were there you would have seen the security went nuts when the first beer bottle was thrown. The problem is you can't see who the first guy is because you aren't expecting it. Then multiple people start throwing and there is nothing to do. But if you saw the security their veins were popping out and threatening to pummel these guys who started throwing the bottles.
