Update: Why Magnus Isn’t At iMPACT! – VISA Issues

UPDATE: It was previously reported that tonight’s iMPACT! lineup had been changed, and that Magnus was not appearing on the show. It appears that he had been pulled from the show due to getting his work VISA renewed. He posted the following on his Twitter today…

En route stateside & got my renewed visa back in time…couldn’t have done it without the help of @MissLRaffo who TheDX should def promote!

ORIGINAL: TNA Wrestling issued a statement this afternoon through its company website concerning tonight’s Bound For Glory Series matches on iMPACT! Wrestling since tournament leader Magnus will be not be appearing on the show “due to an unforeseen issue.”

The British grappler was scheduled to compete against Jeff Hardy and as a result of his absence, they have announced the following changes to the show.

“Magnus, due to an unforeseen issue, will not be appearing on tonight’s Impact Wrestling on Spike TV. Magnus currently has competed in 5 matches and was scheduled to face Kazarian on Xplosion this week and Jeff Hardy on Spike TV tonight. Due to the circumstances, TNA officials have met and made the following decision:

“Magnus will stand with his current total of 39 points. Jeff Hardy and Kazarian will face each other tonight on Impact Wrestling on Spike TV to make up their originally scheduled match with Magnus. Also the originally scheduled Kazarian vs. Hernandez match will move to Xplosion this week.

“Must Win Thursday“ tonight will now feature three matches with serious implications on the BFG Series Final Four scheduled for No Surrender in St. Louis; Austin Aries vs. Christopher Daniels, Jeff Hardy vs. Frankie Kazarian, and AJ Styles vs. Bobby Roode. Tune in tonight at 9/8c for all this and the return of Hulk Hogan on Spike TV.”

How is this a “due to an unforeseen issue” problem?

  2. 1Risky1 says:

why at the last minute? its becoming a really bad habit, will they blame Hogan & Bishoff for that too lol

  3. Dante_Cross says:

I don't blame management for this really. How can someone obviously working overseas with a VISA, not have their shit done so as not to have these problems.

    • nicholal79 says:

You do know that to get a work visa the company you work for has to file the paperwork!

      • Dante_Cross says:

And you'd still know when the visa is up and to keep up with when you should renew before expiration.

        • Bigmike885 says:

sadly..this happens ALOT..expecially with wrestlers. I think within the last 2 years or so Del Rio, Wade Barrett, Shamus and a couple others have all had this issue. Its not so much not getting it done in time, as it is Buracratic BS from the government..they only step on the gas to get it done when its right at the last minute.

I love how everyone makes negative comments when its not necessary. Anything to take a shot at TNA right!

Magnus has certainly improved and deserves his spot!

This is part of the reason TNA is passe’ to most. Everyone needs to stop being critical!!

  6. The Boss says:

    NA-NA-NA-NA-NA-NA

You can’t claim this one on Hogan and Bischoff.

  7. TheMiwyun says:

WWE would have Magnus jailed for this. Goldberg was jailed once

  8. HolsG says:

Guys i'm assuming there was an issue with the getting the visa (like not filling in the form right), not that he didn't do it on time.
I thought he was a US citizen tbh. Glad he's still a brit

  9. whatsup121 says:

Serisouly i understand being a forign worker in the US and needing work visa's etc but they really need to get this Sh&t together , this already has happened to Rhoode, and now Magnus
